Description
Disability Matters is a major six-year pan-national research programme funded by a Wellcome Trust Discretionary Award that will transform health research and environments through a paradigm shift to disability as the driving subject of inquiry.
The Disability Matters online town hall circus is a series of annual knowledge exchange events aimed at science and health funders, policy makers and researchers based across universities, NGOs and DPOs. The online town hall circus forms part of the knowledge exchange activities for Phase 7 of Disability Matters which focuses on transforming equity, diversity, and inclusion through disability. The first town hall circus event will be led by the Sheffield team. It asks the question ‘How does centring disability drive innovative change and expand equity, diversity and inclusion in health research?’
It will feature short provocations from the Sheffield Disability Matters team and a panel discussion with Professor Kate Sang and Dr Katherine Deane. There will be opportunities to network and contribute to discussions asynchronously via Padlet.
British Sign Language and automatic captioning will be provided.
